Preschool Ministry
Welcome to Preschool Ministry at Forestville Baptist Church in Greenville, SC! Our Mission at Forestville Baptist Church is to partner with parents to “train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6. Our Preschool Ministry serves children birth through 3 -years-old.
The preschool years are crucial to the total development of the child. We have Sunday School classes for each age group. We want to partner with you to give each child a strong biblical foundation on which to build their spiritual growth. By partnering with you, we become co-teachers in shepherding your child's growth as a fully developing follower of Christ. We hope this overview of Preschool Ministry will be helpful.
Security Measures Generated by Preschool Ministry Leaders
For your child’s Safety
- Volunteer Caregivers: All volunteer childcare givers have completed a Volunteer Application and background check. We strive to have qualified and loving caregivers training and instructing your child about the Lord, Jesus Christ.
- Pagers & Signing In: A pager is to be picked up at the Check-in Desk. In the classroom, you must sign-in on the wall chart providing: Child Name, Pager Number, Parent Name, and Need to Know Information (allergies, etc). The Paging System has four digital pages: Child Fine, Please Come, Baby Hungry, or Return Pager.
- Classroom Ratios: We strive to have safe Caregiver/child ratios and appropriate number of children in classrooms each Sunday and Wednesday. The ratios are as follows:
- Minimum of two Caregivers in each classroom
- Charts are on the wall at each classroom door indicating the appropriate room
- Sprout and Buds (Birth 16 mo) = 1 Caregiver for every 3 children
- Vines, Saplings, Maples (17 mo 3 yrs) = 1 Caregiver for every 5 children
- Trained Desk Volunteers: Volunteer workers serving at the Check-in Desk are trained on all our procedures. These volunteers provide pertinent information to parents seeking help.
